Lightbulb

Bottles need to be tested every 5 years.
As long as they pass that they are good to go.
I had one bottle that was 20 years old and passed test just fine. I do this quite a bit. I sell used bottles with new powdercoating (any color the customer wants) and with brand new NX valves, Dirt Cheap.
Most have test dates from 2001, but most tracks don't even check the dates. It's up to you to keep up on them, it's your car and/or life.

Now the Carbon bottles CAN'T be recertified and for $500.00 a pop I don't really see the point, unless you have money coming out your, you know what, or are a Pro Mod driver needing to shed the very last little pound you can.

Good luck,
Dave Brown

Most any welding supply shop that does oxygen/acetylene refills can have the bottles re-certified for around 25-30 dollars. Also safety supply companys that refill medical grade oxygen, are also able to have the bottles certified.
It's usually a 3-4 day turn-around.
