What CR are you shooting for? BTW, AFAIK Mahle does not make a nitrous specific piston, which you will need for a 300 shot, IMHO.

walt355: For my setup I am running nitrous and in the future boost+nitrous when I get a lower CR with some larger heads. I went with a custom set of JE pistons with nitrous pins. By custom they are not the standard 4340 forged alloy, they are 2618 forged alloy which are designed for high boost and high n2o applications as there expansion rate is lower which is what u want with the added cylinder temp.

They can make them for you in any CC, I went with a -16cc 2618 forged alloy piston with nitrous pins and hellfire rings. Give a call to JE Pistons, they ran be about $1000. They also have a great tech line, call'em up :-)

Also make sure to give yourself enough piston to cylinder wall clearance

JE is then the right choice. They have a "heavy duty" flat top designed for nitrous/boost. You will save some $$ because it sounds like you can use a shelf piston.

Rich is correct, build once...you either pay now or pay later...if you cant find a shelf nitrous 2618 alloy piston to meet your 12:1 CR then they can make you one...but like rich said you can save some coin going with a shelf piston...

But def JE, you cant go wrong.

Standard specification such that they may be "on the shelf" waiting to be shipped.

Diamond Pistons...Ask for Mike, he can set you right up with the right piston. They are second to none in product and service.

I second diamond.... Second to none in my opinion. I ordered a custom nitrous specific set for my 383 LT and have had no problems whatsoever. Yes they were pricey, however I only wanted to do this ONE time.

I've heard good things about diamond as well, i'm sure either or is a great choice. If i had to go back and do it again i would still go JE.

I went with JE for a nitrous specific piston. JE and Ross are known for being #1 in most peoples eyes.

My wiseco's held A LOT of nitrous(up to a 325rwhp shot), but finally died on me after the head gasket let go and it went lean one night. Not sure a custom nitrous piston(je/diamond) would've survied either, but if you want to do it right, get a true nitrous piston from diamond or je and don't look back honestly.
