nitrous on a madz28 tune

I have a nitrous works wet kit that I plan on spraying a 100 shot with on a stock bottom end LT1. I will be installed colder plugs (TR6), a FPSS, and window switch. Right now, I have the "power tuning" for 93 octane fuel, which Im assuming includes advanced timing.

So my question is:
a) can I run the 100 shot with the advanced timing?
b) if not, will stock timing be ok?
c) or do I need a timing retard box? (i.e. sell the window switch and use the money towards a mallory 685)

If I am reading this right your motor is stock. Ifg so you should be able to spray on a stock tune. Most deffintly do noty spray with the timming advanced.

I was told by Ion to retard timing 2 degrees for a 100 shot, and 3 degrees for a 150 shot. I have the same tune as you.

How are you pulling back the timing when you are spraying? Do you upload a new tune before you go to the track or are you using a retard box to take out timing?

Re: nitrous on a madz28 tune

if im not mistaken, he told me he advances the timing no more than 1 or 2 degrees over stock, so if thats right, id suggest selling the window switch and just getting a mallory 685 box so you will be able to retard it enough back to stock while spraying, and you can still get your n/a power tune without spraying.

I use an MSD Digital 6. Works great, but I wish I would have gotten the Mallory to save some $ and space under the hood by killing 2 birds with 1 stone (timing + window switch).

Re: nitrous on a madz28 tune

you can use an MSD harness for one of their ignition boxes. i have one actually in the packaging that i never got around to using because i decided to sell my parts and sell the car. ill sell it to you for real cheap if you are interested, pm me. theres a thread here that shows which wire colors get plugged into which wire colors on the mallory box.
