Nitrous on a LT1

Is is safe to run a 100 shot on a bone stock LT1 with around 115,000 miles? I have been asking around and have been getting mixed reactions. Just gonna see what you guys think.

You should be fine, do yourself a favor and buy a window switch and a fuel pressure safty switch. Change your fuel filter and get colder plugs with a much smaller gap. In the n20 section there are plenty of 100kplus lt1's spraying.

You should if you get the safety stuff. Like said by slomarao.

An automatic car with that mileage isn't going to like nitrous for long. BUT, the engine itself, assuming it's been well cared for should be fine with a 100 HP shot.

I have 123k and I spray a 100 shot pretty frequently, I'm on bottle number 3 and not a single problem even without the safety devices. Some people have good luck and some have bad. You only live once.

I've heard that the T56 is only rated for like 450 lb/ft of TQ. I know someone who managed to twist his output shaft with heads/cam.

Re: Nitrous on a LT1

I did 410hp/510tq on the bottle on a 95 with lont tubes only. Seemed to hold everything just fine. I sold the kit and when we did the cam swap last weekend MOST of my pushrods were somewhat bent.

N20 related?? Hard to say, but I know it did not help.
