nitrous on a freshly rebuilt cast internals engine?
nitrous on a freshly rebuilt cast internals engine?
If i rebuilt the 350 w/ the summit racing 350 rebuild kit (Balanced), would I be ok with like 100-150 hp shot of nitrous without risking anything? I know forged is what is best ,but not enough $$ to go with that.....
A big myth that is spread all over the place is that you HAVE to have forged bottom end to spray nitrous. THIS IS INCORRECT.
A good cast hypertectic piston will stand nitrous fine. You can't get crazy with it or use as much as with a forged piece, but it WILL work. Also, the life of a cast piston will not be as long as that of a forged with nitrous.
A good Summit rebuild kit would be fine for a 100-150 take of the go-go juice...

You'd be fine with cast EVERYTHING, if you're on a budget. But yes, a cheaper way of adding a little more strength would be to get just forged pistons.
The stock rods/crank are fine. It all depends on how much you want to spray...
