Nitrous and Cam?

Hey guys, I have a full bolt on 99 Trans am WS.6. I ran a 125 and a 150 wet shot last year and loved it. The car only got maybe 2 bottles threw it before i blew the rear end. This year i upgraded to a ford 9" and i also threw in a texas-speed camshaft. The cars a full bolt on, 6 spd, stock internal motor(besides the cam, springs, pushrods, timing chain, oil pump)

I have a NX wet kit with all the safety features, fpss, heater, purge, wot switch, window switch (3200-5900 rpms or so) ect ect. I also have it pulling around 2 degrees of timing when the nitrous is activated.

My question is, is a 150 shot alittle to much to be pushing with a camd car? Should i take the shot down to a 125 or even a 100 hp jet?

The hard parts can handle the power the car is producing, the big question is can your fuel system handle the HP demand?

I am going to assume you make ~400whp and the stock fuel system can only support ~450whp. If you do not have one already I would reccomend upgrading the fuel pump before spraying the car. The Racetronix Fuel Pump and harness will get you up to the 6-650whp range.

400 on just motor your saying. I forgot to mention the fuel upgrade Ray. I am running just that, the racetronix with the updated harness. TR6 plugs Gapped .36.

So with that being said, would it be ok to keep the 150 wet shot?

You should be fine with 150
you might need to pull 2-4* of timing to be on the safe side
