Nitrous?
Nitrous?
hey guys, Ive got a 96z with a custom JoeO cam and LE2 heads.. both are more N/A applications.. I can get the specs if necessary, I was just wondering if putting on a 100 shot would hurt it at all since its not a nitrous setup? Also would I need a new tune or anything for the nitrous or do I just hit the button and go
sorry if these are stupid questions, im just not a nitrous person as you can tell
thanks alot

you will be able to spray using that head/cam package....on smaller shots you do not need a nitrous specific cam....You will not need a retune but you will need some way of retarding the timing due to having a custom tune for the mods you already have. This can be done through an ignition box, like the Mallory 685 or an add on module if you already have a different box.
Please let me know if you have any other questions

The 685 is a good value for someone that is still on the stock ignition, as it puts everything into one unit.
I am running the MSD digital 6 on my car....but it is more expensive and doesn't include a window switch
Correct, you don't need any of those additional inputs, just use the MSD harness to hook it up to the ignition coil. Then obviously, you will need the power and ground leads hooked up to the battery. Also, both the timing retard and window switch each have a lead that you need to wire up. Other then that, it is very straight forward and easy.
sorry to keep bugging you about this.. but im getting the ket (dual nozzle wet) and the Mallory 685 w/ harness.. Since I drive the car pretty often do I need different plugs to spray a 100shot once in awhile? also do I need anything else for the install? I just want to slap it on and be ready to go I want it to kick on at like 3700 WOT, how does retarding the timing come into play
THANK YOU VERY MUCH I REALLY APPRECIATE IT

You shoudn't turn the heater on with the bottle closed because the pressure sender can't read the pressure and won't shut the heater off. If you leave it on long enough it will blow the burst disk.
or you can get the automatic bottle heater, which has a pressure switch that turns the heater on/off depending upon bottle pressure. also i believe some of the new bottles have a guage before the bottle valve so you can read the pressure of a closed bottle.
