Newbie to Nitrous

Hey guys

I just got promoted and its almost time for x-mas so I was thinking of getting myself a good sized present. I am definitely interested in using N2O in my T/A but I'm not sure what I should be looking for as for safety, or setup equipment.

Also wondering if it would be safe to mount the bottle inside the car, on the hump between the rear seats. Also where would I fill my bottle when it's empty?

Maybe some links to certain kits would give me a better idea of what is a good buy, what's the max shot I should use on stock internal engine, how much it should cut off the 1/4... thanks

Check out this link. It will tell you all the basic information about nitrous.

My buddy of mine has the bottle mounted on the hump between the back seats. It looks pretty good but, its uncomfortable as hell sitting back there. With a stock bottom end, i would not go over a 150 shot with all of the safety equipment. Check out www.NitrousOutlet.com. They can direct you to the nitrous kit to fit your application.

Make sure you get a window switch and a fuel pressure cut off switch.. Those are first things first as far as safety.

You can mount the bottle where ever you please, but if it's inside the passenger compartment (which it almost allways will be) be sure you use a blow down tube to stay legal.

It's also a GOOD idea to have the system tuned w/ a good wide band O2, no matter what type you are using. Just to ensure that you are not over leaning or over richening the overall stoich ratio.

Congrats on the promotion! With regards to filling your bottle, I'm not sure what kind of speed shops you have up in Ontario, but get on Nitrous Express, NOS, ZEX, websites to see if you can locate a distributor. Another option would be to find a welding/fuel shop that carries N20, I got mine filled with medicinal grade N20 once and didn't have any problems.

Both websites rock and are very helpful - especially getting your foot in the door with running a basic system. Thanks.

I thought I read that they were making it ilegal to run with nitrous on the street in Ontario now due to all the street racing accidents. I would look into that before you buy.

IF you are looking at a wanting to get a complete system then i would suggest http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...roduct_id=2809 Your Choice of 52mm or 58mm. This will net you everything needed in order to have a safe and complete kit. The only other thing that I could suggest is getting a racetronix style fuel system$249.99. This should net you fueling capable of supporting around the 650rwhp mark. That away you know your 100% covered for fueling for the nitrous.
