New Product!!! Progressive Nitrous Controller

Hey guys, check out our new progressive controller. It's got a pretty good base feature set at a nice price point; $299.99. We're going to do an Introductory Price of $279.99 until we start shipping; which is aprox 9/30/05. They are finishing up in manufacturing now and then they just have to be packaged. Follow this link for more info:

The HSW Edge Progressive Nitrous Controller

Let me know if there are any questions.

Thanks,
Matt

Re: New Product!!! Progressive Nitrous Controller

If I am reading the sales pitch correctly it controlls the nitrous in a semi-progressive manner; using 5% increments.

BTW, I'd appreciate if you could explain this better:

--Start Power - 10-60% in 5% steps

--End Power - 40-100% in 5% steps

Anyway, my question is this:

If it ramps up the nitrous flow in a semi-progressive fashion (5% increments), how does it control the timing retard?

Does it just pull out a few degrees once or twice or does it have a corresponding progressive or semi-progressive retard curve?

Re: New Product!!! Progressive Nitrous Controller

It's a progressive controller. The 5% increments are for setting start and end power percentages. Let's say you're jetted for a 100 shot. You set the start percentage anything between 10-60% in 5% steps (start could be 10, 25, 50, but not 12 or 23) and end at 40-100% in 5% steps. So if the end is less then 100% then you won't be spraying a full 100 shot. You then set the build time for amount of time you want the progression to last. Does that make sense?

The unit itself does not control timing retard. It has a trigger that would hook up to your ignition and activate the retard function when the nitrous is engaged.

Re: New Product!!! Progressive Nitrous Controller

sounds like a really nice piece for the price. Is there any way to have it come on 100%, but use the delay feature?

Yes, you could set up The Edge to do that.

Here's a few screen grabs of the LCD screen on The Edge. Below is a video (right click and save as) of The Edge in use. The audio cuts in and out a bit and I shouldn't of even tried doing any hand held shooting, but I guess that's why I'm not in video production LOL. The two LEDs light flash when the unit is pulsing the solenoids and go solid when the build time is over.

The Edge Demo Video (Right Click and Save Target As)

The video is a little more then 4 megs.

Re: New Product!!! Progressive Nitrous Controller

What is the "additional solenoid control" option used for?

Edit - and how hard would this be to integrate with an existing ignition box (ie - Mallory #685). How detailed are the instructions?

Re: New Product!!! Progressive Nitrous Controller

The "additional solenoid control" option is for controlling more then 2 large solenoids. The Edge is able to support 2 large solenoids out of the box. So if you have a direct port with 4 of the large size solenoids you'll need the option. The Edge can control as many solenoids as you need, you'll just have to pick up enough solenoid driver boxes to handle the amperage.

It shouldn’t be hard at all. How does the timing retard function get triggered (ground or 12v)?

The instructions are up to snuff. Lots of pictures and wiring diagrams.

Re: New Product!!! Progressive Nitrous Controller

The image on back of the flyer is it. Its 4.5" x 2.5" x 1.25" so it isn't too big and it can be easily mounted. It is mod based. The main controller (that has the LCD screen) connects to a small break out box. The breakout box is where all the wire feeds come into. Then you have the solenoid driver box(s) that are the same size & weatherproof that sit closer to the solenoids and connect to the break out box. Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

Thanks,
Matt
