New dyno numbers and track times on the gas

Went to the dyno a couple weeks ago to try out the new nx kit. On a 100 shot with a little less the 900psi it made 422rwhp and 435rwtq. Its an auto with 3.42's and a 2800 stall. Could It make closer to 440rwhp with 1000psi?

New track times I got last week on the 100 shot with about the same pressure as on the dyno
60' 1.66
1/8th 7.35@94.60
1/4mi 11.46@120.84

Lookin to try out the 150 here soon. Couple questions. What timing should I have at wot on the 150 and should I run race gas or will 93 octane be sufficent?

Wow those are some nice times. Do you mind listing your mods besides the nitrous? How big of cam is it? I am planning on something similar this summer. The MAF kit is in my room I sure hope to see somthing around what your getting. Are you running slicks? if not those are some nice times on drag radials.

let us know how the 150 shot goes.

Nice - close to my setup only my N20 isn't installed yet. I'm hoping to crack the 11's as well - first need to upgrade the ignition then i'm ready to rock.

I always tell people that run small shots of n2o...keep everything mild and let the n2o's torque work for you.

Back in 97, before I bought my Z28, my brother owned it. At the time it had Moroso CAI, Edelbrock shorty headers and a 150 shot. On BFG DR's, ran 12.1's-12.3's@115-117 mph in this trim...bang for the buck is hard to beat. We crushed a ton of cars like with that setup.

I bet with a good dyno tune because the wet kit that my brother was running I am sure was rich, I could have pulled a couple more mph out of it.

It is very feasible to have a car look bone stock, sound stock and if you set it up right...probably squeeze into the 10's.

Anyways..congrats...that is cooking.

That's a stout machine, it just goes to show the power of spray and the LT1. Congratulations.

Have you logged any data during the run, you may have seen some retard already. My guess is you have.

You could run 93 with the 150 shot, but you'll probably see more retard.

I'd run colder plugs and retard the timing 6 or more degrees even at the 150 level. I'd also run race gas, it's cheap insurance and easier than engine work. You can always tune it back up later.

My guess is 11 teens at the 124 you guessed on the 150 kit.

Does your car spin the tires or do you have a window switch?

Are you spraying out of the hole to get the great 60' time? Do you still have the stock rear end? Thanks

No i haven't logged any date yet. Timing has already been pulled out of the motor. I have one heat range colder plugs (autolite 104's). I don't think it spins that bad. The gas comes on at 3000rpms and I have a 2800 stall. I'm gonna try and get the gas to come on a lil sooner.

Good, that's what you need is a little retard. That's probably just one of many reasons why your car runs like it does. You know what you're doing. Again, don't be afraid to retard even more than recomended, it costs you very little et wise. You can always turn it up next pass, because you didn't burn a piston.

That's what I thought, window switch. It's the window switch that's holding your car back. Get the gas on as quick as you can. There's no reason why you shouldn't see 11 ohs @ the 120 mph level. I'm assuming your trans is up to the task.

Nice deal.

Re: New dyno numbers and track times on the gas

I ran 12.20's@111mph N/A and on a 150shot ran 10.90's@125mph on a 1.60 60' with ET streets and a 3550lb car with 3.42's awhile back. So it's doable with your setup but you need to work on suspension and 60's to do it. Good times later Clint
