N2O setting off SES light????
N2O setting off SES light????
OK.....This is in my '98 S-10 witha '95 LT1. Never had any troubles with setting off any SES codes before this. Truck has run perfect for almost two seasons and still runs good as of now. I recently installed a NOS EFI universal wet kit on my truck and have been having problems setting off the SES light when I use it...... I finnaly got off my butt and decided to scan it while this happens and this is what I got...
Code 16 (Lo res failure)
Code 47 (Knock sensor module circuit)
Code 48 (MAF system failure)
Code 36 (Hi res failure)
Code 18 (Injector circuit)
code 51 (Prom/Flash error)
So what gives???
Can anybody tell me what is happening to my truck?? When I get this code if I turn the nitrous off in time it goes away instantly.....but If I don't catch it in time it stays on and sends the PCM into limp home mode......I have to shut my truck off....restart it and it's gone.
I have no idea why it would set off all of these codes when I spray?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: N2O setting off SES light????
hehe....No. I'm not shooting throught my MAF......and my jetting is good.
Nitrous Jet = 46
Fuel Jet = 32
This system works fine if I only turn it on in like 3rd gear....I have used it many of times in 3rd....but whats the use?? I would like to use it for the entire pass.

Re: N2O setting off SES light????
where are you pulling power for the n2o from? might be pulling from the same circuit the PCM is getting power from. doesn't make sense. but, hey it's an option.
I had this very same problem on my LT1 when spraying. Had I believe a code 47, knock sensor. Sure enough, I replaced the knock sensor and all was well in the universe. The old sensor must of got rattled by the spray one day and took a crap. Actually, now that I think about it, It was some silly *** code about the optics. Anyways, just change the knock sensor on the block with a new one.
