which n20 system?

i have been thinking about putting nitrous on my car forever and have finally decided to do it. i have a 2000 z/28 A4 with long tubes, 3 inch true duals, a k&n filter replacement, NGK TR55's, and a level 3 tune from a jet programmer. I will have efi live in a week so the tune can be changed. i dont know which system and brand to go with. there are ALOT of choices and was thinking about going with the NOS kit specifically for the ls1's. i want to keep the price under $600 with everything included (fuel pump if needed, spark plugs, plates...). any suggestions? thanks

Up your budget if you want to do it safely.

You can get a kit for at or under 600 bucks and there are plenty of options in that regard. However, if you want to safely and consistently spray, you are going to have to look into some additional pieces such as a fuel pressure safety switch, window switch, and possibly a timing retard mechanism depending on where your tune lies and how much you plan on spraying. Long story short, it is going to add up. I have close to 1500 in my system which includes all the bells and whistles.

ok after looking around i see that $600 was a little unreasonable. so what would everyone suggest for a kit that could deliver around a 125-150 shot safely and whats the price?
from what i see, direct port nitrous is the safest way to go, yet it looks more complicated and its more expensive (you get what you pay for theory). how hard are these to install?

I would probably prepare to pay around a thousand. Depending if you go with one of the fancier plate or MAF style kits, those will be more. A company like Nitrous Outlet can set up your manifold for a direct port setup, but once again, you are looking at added cost. If you only plan on spraying around 125-150, a simple nozzle setup will do the trick.

I like the NX #20920 kit. Also look in to N2O Oulet's plate and halo systems.

...as there a couple in there that will work for you.

If add the rest of the accessories to the Brand X kit you will be around $800 then $249 for a Racetronix fuel pump kit.

i only plan on spraying a 125 shot at the most. it looks like the special #2 would be what i am looking for. from what i see its just a nozzle that is put in the intake. should i look at upgrading to a plate design or would i not need it for a shot this small.

Either the nozzle or the plate will work just fine for you for that size shot. It is more so a matter of what looks more visually appealing to you.

I have the plate with a little under a 125shot. Hits very hard and makes for a cleaner install.

As stated above, either a nozzle or a plate will work. I suggested the nozzle as you said you were working on a specific budget.

sweet, thanks for the info and guidance. one more question tho- i was looking at upgrading fuel pumps to be on the safe side and nitro dave mentioned a racetronix fuel pump for $250, but i had a warobrol 255 (not sure on the spelling) due to the popularity and because its around $100. i eventually will boost the car so would i be better off with the racetronix? thanks

The Racetronix is basically a relabeled Walbro.
