n00b Nitrous Oxide question for you pro's!

Ok people I've done my searching around that site and can quite find the info I'm looking for so I'll just post it…
Thinking about running Nitrous Oxide on my pretty much stock LT1 I've seen kits go from $350 to $1,500
I'm looking to spray as much as I can with doing the minimum damage to my engine I've had a rebuild about 2 years ago and a rebuild on my trans 6 months ago….
This is the system I have currently been looking at
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...5&autoview=sku

I have been seen guys spray any where from 70 to 150 shot and taking at least a second off you 1/4 mile time!!
All I'm asking is that you guide me towards a good starter kit. . .

Hey we seem to be running into each other in a couple of forums today... but just wanted to tell you that kit your are looking at will not work for your car if it is a fuel injected lt1, that is a universal square bore carb kit...

Give me a few seconds and I will find some good info for you...

summit is a pain in the a$$ to search through and post search results but here are a few from them that will get you started:

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...6&autoview=sku NX Nozzle Wet Kit

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...6&autoview=sku NOS Dry Kit

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...6&autoview=sku Zex Dry Kit

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...6&autoview=sku NX MAF Wet Kit

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...6&autoview=sku NOS Plate Dry Kit

You may also check out a few of our Supporting venders...

http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/

No matter what way you go you are going to have to choose between a wet or dry system, search this site for benifits of each.. And remeber if you want it to last you need to get some good safety features that are not in some of the kits, again search this section...

Re: n00b Nitrous Oxide question for you pro's!

First off the kit you linked to is for a carb engine. Second I would stay away from edelbrock and ZEX for that matter (just my opinion).

Why don't you by from a sponser? Give Nitro dave a call 1-866-648-7637 or www.nitrousoutlet.com.

The kit I would recommend is a NX wet kit or Daves new plate system. You also what to look into a bottle heater, N2O gage, fuel press safety switch (FPSS), and if you have a manual trans I would reccomend a window switch. Dave could put together I real nice kit and probably give you a killer deal.

Summit or Jegs is good for some stuff but when it comes to nitrous go with the people who deal with it on a daily basis. The thing I like about NX Lifetime warranty on the Noids and the techs are very helpful.

Some more info about your car would also help. the wet kit is a good kit that you can easily exspand. I wouldn't go over 100 without ugrading your fuel pump and 150 after that unless you have a forged engine. Hope this helps.

If you don't want to take any of this advise at least call Dave it's toll free and it can't hurt.

What's wrong with Zex kits? They are owned by Comp cams. I like the kit for the easy install. Its harder to hide the system in the engine bay, but could be hidden with longer lines than what it comes with. Just my opinion
