N.O.S. dry kit
N.O.S. dry kit
Guy at a performmance shop near where I live says to go with a dry kit because it can be safer and as long as you have good injectors an inline fuel pump and some safety gadgets because the wet kit from nx feeds the fuel to be shot in with the nitrous from the somethin valve on theuel rail and that can lean out the motor. Also says that headers on an lt1 with stock heads wont make that much of a difference with the nitrous since the heads are more restrictive than the headers.. I dunno didnt folow that part too well but I plan on doing exhaust anyways. Also what size exhaust do most of you guys have who run large shots?
I like the N.O.S dry kit, particularily on LS1 engines, but I think it works fine on LT1's too. It's simple to install and I haven't had any problems with it (yes, I know I'm in the minority here 'cause it seems everyone else loves Nitrous Ex, but I don't like sprayin fuel). You probably won't have a problem with your stock fuel pump as long as you stay below 125 hp. Headers? YES, always add headers! It's one of the best bang-for-the-buck upgrades you can make. Of course, then you'll also want to uncork everything else downstream. Do headers make a diff with the nitrous? Not sure, but I do know that headers with a decent exhaust make a big difference when the juice isn't on (which is most of the time) plus they sound real cool.
An upgraded fuel pump is always a MUST imo with nitrous. The guy who told you about the motor leaning out w/ wet kits is a jerkoff. Given normal shots, like 50-100, both kits are good and safe. I prefer wet kits myself along w/ the proper safety stuff and an upgraded fuel pump.
I like my NOS 5176 dry kit. It came with an inline fuel pump. I bought extra jets and a 75 shot dropped my ET by almost a second. That's on a bone stock A4 w/2.73's and street tires . If you need a wiring diagram I'll shoot you one. Mine's set up for MSD6AL, window switch, and FPSS

Well he is friends with a bunch of guys in the inspection business if you get my drift, but I didnt agree with some things he said. Ah well I can still buy stuff from him. I dont think I want the dry kit since its more expensive with the injectors and what not and everyone praises the wet kits.
