MSD Timing Controller

I am looking into buying one of these. I have seen them on numerous Turbo/Supercharged apps. They basically allow you to adjust the timing from inside the car to adjust for boost, altitude, bad gas etc etc. I was thinking this would also be beneficial for a motor wanting to spray a large shot but still run great NA without it always running crappy because of a lack in timing. I wanna be able to run optimal timing NA then crank it down ALOT for the "little" shot of juice I have. I was wondering if any of you had any experience with it for this use and what your opinions were. Any of you have access to one for sale? They are kinda pricy new so I might wanna shave some of the cost off of it by going used.
thanks in advance,
Rick

You can always get the one that isn't adjustable from inside (no **** attached) and instead use pills. Just like MSD's rpm pills. You can either buy pills for it (retard pills, not rpm pills) or you can figure out the correct resistance needed and just use cheap Radio Shack resistors. I've got 0-10 degree pills and I have the MSD retard box, but have yet to hook it up yet...
