He is talking about your coil itself...Mounted on the top front drivers side of the engine. It has 1 plug wire (coil wire) going from it to your opti. That is the coil. It also has a dual plug in the top of it that has colored wires. You need to tap into the - side of the coil which he believes is the white wire(s). I guess I should have asked...do you have a MSD ignition box? If so there is a tach output that you can plug right into.

Re: msd rpm wire...........help

The PCM harness has the tach signal wire. You will have to look for sure, but it is on the red harness I believe. This wire can be tapped into and will give a more finished look than running the wire all the way up to the coil, which if I remember right is the alternate method if there is not an available tach signal from the PCM. Check http://shbox.com for the location to make sure. You will have to pull the PCM out 10mm screws and unplug the harness then find the wire.

Re: msd rpm wire...........help

circuit 121 isn't necessarily the same signal frequency as the output of the coil module. if it is then it can be used as an RPM signal also. if using that one works, let us know.

what if i hooked up an LED to the switch..............would that tell me if it worked or not??? I think it would.......all it will do is supply power to something during certain rpms...............so it would work
