Msd 6btm ?

Can i use this box with nitrous, so i can retard the timing from inside the car . Also if i get a mallory 685 box what do you do to retard the timing when nitous is in use and keep it regular for when you run on motor. Which one would be better and simpler for me i dont like electronics. Oh by the way my car is going to be on a 75-100 shot and my timing has been advanced i think 4 degrees from pcmforless for my boltons.

I would not use the BTM instead I would use MSD-8680 if you already have a MSD 6 series box.

If you don't all ready have the MSD and you go with the Mallory 685 it has a trigger wire that will connect to your nitrous kit. This will pull timing only when the kit goes active. The Mallory I think will be easier to operate as it does not require you to change anything.

MSD-8680 can be used with a 6A box? not just a 6AL?

After talking with MSD, I was told that any time you piggy back a analog box to another analog box 2-5 degrees of total timing is lost. On a car with a adjustable opti like MSD you can advance the timing but with a fixed opti you will have to program it back in or go to the digital 6 plus box which compinsates for this and has a stage of retard. What this means is the car will slow down N/A just by adding the box. I wire nitrous circuits for race cars and have added multi stage retard boxes and always have to reset the timing. Good luck!

re

bubba4, how about if I add just a msd6 box to a stock opti there is no timing lost there, correct?
