Mounting nozzles in the intake...
Mounting nozzles in the intake...
After taking part in a little discussion about the distribution problems that many intakes have, I started wondering a few things...
1) What if you took a plate that had 90* nozzles, one to each TB "port", what if you pointed the one on the right toward the left, and pointed the other back toward the right, would that make any difference in the distribution?
2) What if you mounted nozzles directly in the intake, for example one entering the rear of the intake pointing forward, and one at the front pointing toward the rear. What would this do for distribution? I'm not talking about a direct port setup, but a fogger type of nozzle, like you normally mount in the elbow, just tapped straight into the intake.
I'm NOT planning to do this, just wanted to see what others, especially the professionals and those with extensive nitrous experience, thought of the idea.

Re: Mounting nozzles in the intake...
I am not an expert by any means and my only opinion is for the second option u listed. I dont really think pointing it away from the TB (if thats what u mean) would help at all, in fact I would think it would hurt it do to the fact that the throttle body is trying to suck it in and its spraying away from it. Peace, Dustin.
Re: Mounting nozzles in the intake...
I think you misunderstood what I'm talking about.
For option 2, I'm talking about them being mounted directly in the intake manifold itself, not the ducting in front of the throttle body. So the one in the front would be mounted in the intake, just behind the TB and firing toward the rear, and the one in the back would be shooting toward the front.
For option 1, they would be mounted in a plate behind the throttle body as well, but pointed across the intake to the side opposite the bore they're mounted in.

Re: Mounting nozzles in the intake...
Your option 2 sounds like a train collision in the middle of your intake.
Option 1 sounds alot more feasible. Try it and let us know the results.
