Low Pressure DP Fuel System
Low Pressure DP Fuel System
I have seen a couple of posts about running a dedicated fuel system for a low pressure direct port fogger setup. Some say one thing, some say the other, and some say both. I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could help answer. I plan on using a 1 gallon fuel cell with all the necessary lines and fittings. I plan on running around 250hp on a sportsman fogger system.
Will a Holly Blue Pump and Regulator combination work for fuel demands?
I currently run a 255lph in-tank pump and T-Rex inline pump through stock lines on a 396 ci stroker with a CC306 cam. I am thinking of buying the upgraded wiring harness from ??? and get rid of the T-Rex pump. I think the T-Rex isn't worth much. Should this be sufficient?
Any ideas or info would be a huge help.

Pass on the Blue pump! It's dog S H I T !!!!
I have sprayed 250 and my advice is to never cheap out when it comes to your nitrous fuel pump! Make sure your pump you choose will support the volume you need maintain psi for a consistant safe A/F ratio and always purchase a proven high quality fuel pump.
Nothing wrong with Holley line but look toward there 350 pumps if your spraying large shots for safety. Just remember the money saved when purchasing a cheap pump will always have ya spending big cash in the end with that new rebuild. I'm not saying the blue pump isn't going to work but the question is but for how long?
Personally I use a Magnaflow Quick Star 300 for my nitrous motor.

What about the Holley Black pump ?? I heard that one would do the job on a 300 shot. My NX Direct port kit came with a regulator so that it could run at 9 PSI. Just thought I would ask can you regulate something like a Walbro 255 down to 9 psi with a regulator that comes with a NX kit. It looks to me like it was designed to screw onto the stock fuel rail.

The Holley blue pump will easily support up to 300hp shots of nitrous. That is if the pump is supplying the nitrous kit ONLY. Now, with the 9 psi tuneups, I wouldnt recomend it. Its my own experiences that say the holley blues, and the Mallory 140 pumps drop way off at 9-10psi, and I couldnt get them to be consistant at all. If you are going to run the 9 psi tuneup, I would highly recomend stepping up to a good pump. Again, thats just my own experiences with many many different pumps and kits running 9spi tuneups. If you need more info, email me and I can tell you what I have found.
You may not want to choke a Walboro 240 down with a standard regulator. I'm not sure what that regulator would flow at 6 PSI for your pro shot kit.
I'm with Jim when it comes to sizing a pump. Hell, get three times the pump you would need if you can afford it. I run a Holley Black with my NX kit and have already found the limitations of a Black pump on a return type fuel system with larger doses of nitrous. Anyway, I did a writeup on it. Let me know if you have any questions.
