Either way, with dual stages or a progressive controller you'll get the job done. The only slight down fall to a progressive controller is they can be a little hard on the solenoid plungers, but that isn't really an issue as some manufactures give a lifetime warranty on their solenoids, even if they are pulsed with a progressive controller (like we do).

For dual stage control there are a few options. You could do a time delay type system (like a digi timer) or you could use a second window switch to control the second stage. Heck, you could use our Edge controller to progressively control 2 stages.

I thought I might be of some help to you.We have been setting up dual stages and progressive style systems for along time. You are correct about some progressive units on the market having problems. The biggest problem is the units not being able to handle amp draw. For instance the NX solenoids use a stronger coil so that the piston opens and closes faster. This pulls more amps.On some of the controllers on the market they are not set up to handle as many amps as the solenoids require. So normally the controller will burn up.However you want good solenoids built to handle the controller. So the answer is the NX solenoids with a NX or FJO built progressive controller. There is not a product on the market that can compete with these two manafactures quality.NX offers the Digital Maximizer and a new controller just realeased for only 200 dollars.
If you go dual stage we can set you up with a dual stage maff kit, dual stage nozzles, or if needed a directport. Personally on a 300-350 shot I would go Direct port. Here is a link to the new less exspensive controller from NX.It does not have all the fuctions of the maximizer so read on both and see which one fits your needs better if interested.

Let me know if I can help in any way.
Thanks
