let me see your fuel system setups (fuel cell)

i am looking at putting in a seperate fuel cell for race gas for direct port. there is not enough room where the battery is to mount a good size cell. what does everyone do? i planned on mounting a small cell (2/3 gallon), holley blue and reg, the lines running into my selenoid. i would have a power switch for the pump i would turn on right before i spray. i think i might have to mount the cell in the back. what does everyone else think? how long does a gallon last when spraying direct port?

ok first off itf this is for a fuel inj car if thats what you said when you ordered itthen you will need more then a holly blue or call nos or who ever and tell them what you are doing becouse the blues don't push over 20 psi it you have a fuel injected the jet will be smaller becouse more pressure call and ask them and see what the say my set up is a little dif i use a 1 gallon fuelcell in the back i ran a stainless steel line 3/8 to the front i am run a carb spacer spray bar i run like 5 psi i run a little pump in the back trunk by my fuel cell an i would not recemend puting the fuelcell under the hood to much heat and it will just cause troubles at the track and it is a big fire hazerd kaboom i am not trying to be mean if you want pics i have some this set up is on a 79 camaro just be sher to call nos or who ever you got it from and thell them what kit and ask what fuel presser it should be runing max and the lowest i have some other stuff about this set up to email me baseballfreek@hotmail.com

i understand about the low and high fuel pressure jets and i will get the correct ones if my kit does not come with it. i am going to buy the NOS kit 02620. i am not sure which jets it runs but cant i just buy low PSI jets for it even if it doesnt come with them? the low pressure setup seems to be the easiest to me. yes i would like pics of your setup. how long does a gallon last and how big of a shot are you using?

You definately can put a fuel cell in the stock battery location if it is relocated.

Click here for an install page That car is a guy in my car club with a 98 1LE WS6.

I have seen that fuel cell photo before and after cutting the cell damn near down to nothing it sure doesn't leave for much fuel. I have a Jazz 1 gal. fuel cell and probably will purchase the Triangle because of how nice it is let me tell ya with the little bit of fuel that cell can hold now a person is asking for trouble if tey don't be very careful of the fuel level after making a pass. I would bet there probably is less than a 1/4 gallon of fuel in the cell when full.

I don't know how much power your trying to gain with the nitrous but after a just a few pass with a 1 gal. in my car you can really see the fuel level drop! IMO I would go ahead and cut the battery try floor so you can use the cell unmodified and further more you can also mount your pump at the cell outlet port. Under acceleration the fuel is better gravity aided to the pump vs fighting to reach the pump say if the fuel pump was mounted above. Lets not also forget about the heat soak aspect. Those holley blue pumps are dog****!

I'll have to ask about how long the fuel lasted in his setup. I believe he was running a 200 or 250 direct port shot.

Sadly, he recently blew a nice little hole in the side of his block. His car had a stock shortblock that has seen many miles/passes of heavy abuse under some heafty mods (this isn't his original motor, he sold/traded his old turbo motor for this one).
