juice a 3800 worth it?
juice a 3800 worth it?
I've got a stock 2000 camaro 3800, will it get decent gains with nitrous, or am I just putting money into a system that won't be able to breathe? I'm not looking to invest the extra $$$ in an exhaust, but if you know where I can get one cheap...
I would NOT try to be skimpy and cheap and just get n20 on your stock car. Lid/ram air and exhaust are a def. must in my book for your car.
Just so u know nitrous is NOT cheap. If everything is new...
Say: NX WET kit with heater, purge (genx2)
that right there is like 900.
Then an ignition, plugs. Window switch.
Then someone to install it.
It is NOT cheap. if i were u, dont think bout getting it yet
However i do like the idea of n20 on your car after u get the other mods first..

the great thing about nitrous oxide these days is just that, they make a kit for just about everything. putting a kit on your bone stock 3.8 wont hurt a thing as long as it's done right and as long as you dont get carried away.
their ar several "universal" type kits that you could get for in the 500-600 dollar range that would work great. i WOULD suggest a WET kit regardless of which brand you choose.
you will see significant gains with N2O on any motor. i believe the newer 3.8s are rated at 200hp in the camaro. add a 100 shot and boom, you've got 300hp from your six. dont want quite that much juice, swap in the 75 pills. at the touch of a button you've got all the power of a LT1!
manufacturers understand that some poeple dont want to mod their cars at all really, but just want some extra power for maybe the car they use as their weekend warrior at the strip, or just when their feeling the need for speed. will adding CAI, exhaust, TB, MAF, etc help add HP?? you betcha! do you have to have those before you add nitrous? absolutly not.
good luck!
