Jetting for Sportsman fogger system....
Jetting for Sportsman fogger system....
So all the information that I read from Holley seems a little crazy. None of it seems to confirm what others say and its very confusing. I have the system installed and want to start off with a 150 for tuning. The kit came with 16 .024 and 16 .028 jets which according to them is good for 175 and 250 respectively. They also reccomended using 105 and 110 octanes for those setups.

Anywho, what is anyone else using? New fully forged motor in the car and I plan to drive it with 93 regularly but then putting 105-110 fuel in for the track. Shoot me some suggestions.

We ran a fogger on a TA my buddy had,
usually went like
.024 pills and 6.2 lbs fuel pressure and Torco 110
Retarded -6 * with a digital 6 plus
Sprayed outa the hole with a 3800 RPM convertor = 4700 stall flash
Car ran a best of 10.08 @ 132.75 MPH
We tried the .028 pills and just did a bigger wheelie
Never spent the time to tune the 250 shot. Basically ran the same

Re: Jetting for Sportsman fogger system....
I recommend that you try(since its all the jets you have) 24 squared at 6.0lbs on a 70 jet with 26 degrees. Then read you plugs and lower the flow on the flow guage(hand held) by a quarter pound until it cleans up(probably around 5.5lbs on a 70 jet I would guess). You want you plugs to be almost clear except for a little soot on the white porcelin of the plug. Good luck.
If you can get some 22 pils or 20 pills( for the fuel side) that will allow the system to hit harder.

Re: Jetting for Sportsman fogger system....
Hold up, kinda confused here. I have the fuel coming off the schrader valve on the back of the fuel rail. Isn't the fuel pressure there 40ish?
Re: Jetting for Sportsman fogger system....
With a fogger that isn't going to work very well. I can't even guess how to tune that. I have always run a seperate carb style fuel system with its own regulator. I think that is the only way to do it. I have the number of a guy who will know for sure. He makes custom nitrious kits in Georgia and he both helped and taught me what I know about the subject(and I have had success with his help). call 912 754 1610 and ask for Jim (company name is "Thunder Alley").

Re: Jetting for Sportsman fogger system....
I called the Holley tech deparment yesterday. He said 15 Fuel and 22 Nitrous would give me a 150 shot. Assuming roughly 40 PSI for fuel. He also noted that for some reason they don't have that information available on their website for the sportsman system.
