Info On Direct Port Please

ok. i have been kicking the idea around again of adding some nitrous to my car. *see sig below* i am wondering if a 300 shot *on rare occasions* would work . but mostly id be using a 200 shot. i have been told its really not worth the $$ to do direct port for under 250 hp. im jst wondering what all do i need to make a 300 shot work safely. im not sure what info u guys may need from me, but i can tell you i have all forged internal, alum heads, 10.4:1 comp .*which is prob the 1 set back i have* , 255 gph fuel pump, *granted ill have my 30# SVO injectors by this time, here is my cam specs:
Cam Specs

Valve Lift w/ 1.6 Ratio Intake-.529 Exhaust- .5546
Duration at .050 224* 235*
Lobe center sep. angle 112*
Cam Lobe center 107* 117*
Valve Timing at .050 intake opens at 5* BTDC closes 39* ABDC
exhaust opens at 54*BBGC closes 0* ATDC

should i stick to just a wet kit and just spray 200 or is 300 possible and should i do it via direct port. or should i not even think about nitrous and just do a s/c

I'd do direct port, it is Pimp!

Check with Mr Kurtis Tamez, he has a DP setup running a 300 shot i think. http://www.lt4-396.com/nitrous.htm

IMO id run a DP setup on a 200 shot or more.

the problem with using the shark nozzle is you don't know where the n2o is going (which cylinder) When you start shooting high amounts like a 300 i would not go over 200 on the nozzle i plan to spray 200 on an nx wet kit this weekend. But i would definately reccomend direct port.

Mine is a Nitrous Express system with dual rail upgrade. The car isn't currently up and running, but I'd be glad to answer any questions for ya. A 200-300hp system should be no sweat so long as all the proper ingredients are in the mix; Fuel and Spark being critical. What kind of vehicle is this? Intake design? Etc?

BTW, your compression should be a Non issue. A Nitrous motor can run regular compression. Just keeping in mind on the bottle you WILL need Better fuel (100+ Octane, depending on what you're doing)

Good luck!

AZ, with the TPI style intake, you would be best off with a Direct Port system, to benefit distribution. I only asked as you have had a converted 4Barrel 4150/4500 Carb style intake.

I've never seen a fogger system jetted for any less then 150hp. Problem being ya just can't make the jets that small. When ya have 8 jets, you can't help but flow a healthy amount of Nitrous/Fuel.

Good luck!

NX does make a "Piranha EFI direct port kit" which is adjustable from 100-150-200-300-400-500hp. The problem with the 100 and 150, and actually Ive found with the 200hp jets, is that they are so small, you really need to make sure you have a GOOD fuel filter before the solenoid on the car. The smallest dirt/debri will clog up a fuel jet that is that small. We all know what happens then. Instant cylinder LEAN. BOOM. So dont skimp on the fuel filter. The part number for that kit is 80000EFI. Jobber on it is $999. Im just telling you jobber so I dont get deleted!
