and other questions

So far, I have the ignition control plug, the power and the ground hooked up. What do I need to do with the magnetic pick-up, weatherpack connector, H/S retard input, RPM switch output, and the staging control input. Please answer if you can.

Re: Ignition question

I probably should have specified. I am using a Mallory 685. I have no idea how to hook it up with conjunction with my n20 kit.

Re: Ignition question

Ok, can someone at least answer me this. Would I call NX, or Mallory for technical support on this?

Re: Ignition question

Allright....well I contacted Mallory, and here is the response I got this.
"The violet wires are for the NOS. Ground one of the wires and the other is a ground to the NOS solinoid to activate it. What I recommend is that you get a horn reley and use the violet wire as the ground to activate it and send the 12 volts power to the solinoid. This is a more positive way to wire it in. "

The only problem is I only see one violet wire on my ignition and I still don't know what to do with the remaining yellow and orange wire. I contacted them again and they said the same response. I am really frustrated. How can I do this if even mallory can't help me out? If you know at all about this PLEASE for the love of god, guide me on how to do this!

Re: Ignition question

I could help if I knew what wire did what on the mallory. Do you have a manual or anything? Or do they have the manual on their website?

Re: Ignition question

You set the RPM window switch on the unit, then when it is in that range, the violet wire will be grounded. So you could use a relay:
86 violet wire from mallory
85 b+
30 b+
87 switched b+ that will have power when 86 is grounded to put power to your nos solenoid

I got that from the top of page 12. You got the Hyfire VI ?

Re: Ignition question

The yellow is the H/S retard input (+12 volts activates), the violet is the RPM switch output, the orange is the staging control inpu (+ 12 volts to avtivate).

Re: Ignition question

Yes, I have the hyfire 685 IV. I am understanding the window switch, what I don't understand is the yellow h/s retard input.
