Like the title says. I bought the box because I have a tune from Ion and I was told that I would need to retard the timing / window switch. Buying a harness was not mentioned. The wiring diagrams that came in the box are pretty vague. Can anyone tell me how to hook this up with my Zex system. Also if I run the box with the timing retarded will it be retarding the timing all the time? Or is it only activated when the N20 system activation switch is armed?
I have these safety devices that I am going to be installing with the kit
1. fuel pressure safety switch
2. Nitrous bottle pressure gauge
3. and the 685 box with window switch
I really need help !! this is my first time with N2O and I don't want to make any mistakes.

 

I just wired one up in my car. Open the manual, it has what every wire is used for. Your probably not going to use a few of them.

 

It really is not spelled out in the manual like the dude wanting, I sent you an email call me and we will get this going right for you.

this may sounds really stupid so bear with me, by harness do you mean one that connects the box to the coil, or one that connects the box to the nitrous system? if its the later is that harness ZEX specific, or is there one that will allow me to connect my Malory 685 box to my NX kit? Like i said if this doesnt make any sense i'm sorry

 

The harness is for hooking the box to the car, the nitrous system is hooked to the box using a wire that goes to the activation switch(12volt) of the nitrous system. An output wire coming from the box that will ground the relay going to the solenoid with in the window switches settings. The nitrous itself needs to hooked up specific to manufactures instructions.

Hope that clears things up for you. Pretty simple once you sit down and relize the box just needs some inputs to know when to do its thing.


Oh yea that box has a timing retard also for the nitrous, it only pulls timing out when the nitrous is activated, not in normal operation.

Sence no one knows the answer that vews this forum. I searched and searched and asked and called and FINALLY I got an answer!!! Thanks to a guy at summit ( 2nd I had talked to about this) He actually had it wrote in on a note in his files. There are 3 wires that go to the coil on 94's
1. solid pink wire
2. Pink wire with black stripe
3. gray wire with black stripe
For the mallory 685 box the two pink wires from the harness connect to the red wire the gray with black stripe to the green wire
The two pink wire from the coil plug connect to the yellow wire and the gray wire connects to the black.
Walla your done.
The other wires are self explanitory.
I hope that when people search for this exact Q they will no longer be told buy the harness.
I am sure it would have been less of a headach to have had a plug and play setup. Sometimes you gotta work with what you got.

 

Glad to hear you got it all worked out! I am also glad to know that the two wires ion the that three wire set up are put together. I will keep that in the the old noggin file
