How much spray does it take to do this?

This guy at the track runs 8.4's @ 84mph on motor & 6.78@101 on gas. The thing is, he say's he is only spraying 175hp. It's a 5.0 fox body with an "E" cam , canfeild heads & a C4 tranny . I'm thinking he is spraying more along the lines of ~250/275. The reason I ask is because all my buddies believe him( most of them are ford guys) and that pisses me off. Let me know what you guys think. I've just never seen a car pick up that much trap speed in the 1/8 on a 175 shot. Thanks

Yeah I know they can be bad, there are several around here but the car doesn't run that good on motor. I've always been told that the better your car runs on motor the better it goes on spray. My last car was running 8.0's @ 87 on motor & 7.1's @ 98 on a 175 shot. I also know there is a lot of factors involved that affect your times on spray(cam, converter etc) but his times seem extreme to me.

it's very possible that he is running that,a lot is in the heads and the way the nitrous is delivered. Mustangs have a great chassis setupm for drag racing, much easier to get the power down then our cars also.

As much as you prolly don't want to hear this, yes, it is possible if the car is "set up" for juice. We have a '90 Blazer that runs at my local track w/ a 400 small block and a 300shot. He runs 13.0s NA and 9.2s on gas. That's almost 4 seconds from a 300hit. The gears, stall, suspension, etc is set up for juice...
