Post How much should a zex kit installed run?

Thats the only thing they have here in Charlotte NC. Atleast the only place with credited installers. If anyone knows a shop within 150 miles that sells and Installs the NX kit for 00' LS1 please let me know. I really want to know what a good install price should be.

Why dont you install it yourself and save a few hundred dollars. The Zex kit is really easy to install. You can have it doen in a day, if you dont install purge, heater, or remote opener at the same time. The hardest part is the inline pump, cause the ends they supply arent the same size as the hose, therefore it leaks unless you do some rigging or buy different hose. If you want to pay to get it installed, hopefully they wont charge you more than $200 cause thats all its worth. A good shop should be able to do it in a few hours. Its a way easier kit to install than NX, NOS, Nitrous works, you name it, except venom.

I agree, I highly recommend everyone install their own systems. It may seem daunting at first, but remember the Installer isn't going to follow you to the track and help you find every wire when something goes wrong.

Nitrous when used intelligently is plenty safe, but if you don't already know, and don't install it yourself to learn HOW it works, then I don't think you'll fully understand how the system works.

I understand that ZEX is supposed to be above being "Idiot Proof". I still wouldn't Give much trust in that. I'm sure the ZEX systems work fine, but if you'd really rather get a different system (as the tone in your post gives off) then theres always Mail/Online ordering such as our Sponsors do everyday.

If you get stumped on something you've always got tech support and us Low Lives here in the N20 tech section of the bored.

Wow, I dont believe this. A "moderator" from this site is agreeing with me. WTH is going on. This is amazing. The same person that took 25 min of my typing and narrowed it down to a sentence I never said, is agreeing with me. Anyway, I do agree with the above. I had 2 problems with mine since the install, that I might not have been able to fix without having known how the system was working. Not to mention, you can buy a buy another .1 or 2 in the quarter mile with the money you will give someone to install the kit. Plus youll have the satisfaction of doing it yourself. If you want to drive to pa, Ill help you install the kit! Give me an email if your interested.

Will the ZEX kit go up to 125shot? I've seen only 75shot?

Yes. All of their kits but the LT1 only go to 75. Something like 55,65,75. Thats cause theyre all for small import engines. The LT1 kit comes in 75, 100, 125. They all work perfectly with no manual adjusting of fuel needed. Well, except installing the in-line pump. Kit is pretty simple.

To answer your question expect to pay $200 for a basic install....if you add all the acc. such as purge, heater, fpss, and window switch it will be more like $350. Take your time and do it yourself.

Thumbs up

Thanks all. I will install it myself If anyone has installed zex I may have one or two questions. This should be fun. If the zex kit is as good as the nx kit. Thats the way I will go as I can get it for a good price. I dont know how much truth there is to it but companies like NX are supposed to replace defective parts for free. Does Zex give the same customer service or does anyone know if they have reliable phone techs.

Unless someone tells me otherwise I will purchase the kit Friday.

Oh yeah. n2oTransAmLT1 thanks for the invite but Im a tad bit far. If you or anyone has installed the kit could you shoot your email address? I promise not to bother you unless I absolutely have to.
Again thanks.

I love this forum.
