How great is the 460LE on Nitrous?
I've been using a wet 75 shot on my Impala and never had a problem so far with the tranny. I have a 2400 stall and a transgo kit installed. But I hear that the trans limit is 350lbs, is a transgo and bigger stall going to help out the life of the trans or should I expect the trans life decline? I never use nitrous between the shifts. TIA
my buddy at GM told me that in stock form, their not designed to take that much more power than stock. i started out spraying a 100 shot on my completely stock tranny between shifts with no problems at first. then i moved up to the 150, and it slips on the 2-3 and wont actually shift into 3rd.
my car now has 104k miles and i started spraying around 95k. my buddy told me that at 100k, i should really have the tranny flushed. so in order to try and help the slipping prblem heres what ill be doing in the next couple of weeks-
1. getting tranny flushed
2. putting in all new B&M synthetic shift fluid
3. getting JET Performance Shift-Plus shift kit (consisting of a module to electronically select between different shift settings, and a valve body kit)
hopefully this will help with the shifting for a while. if not, i will be buying a new tranny soon.

I heard the synthetic tranny fluid is bad to put in our trannies. I was told only use Dexton III. Synthetic tranny fluid does not have that. Also putting a shift kit like transgo on a half-dead tranny is like giving a dead person CPR. Also if you go throught the electric shift kit, it'll work the same way except the tranny will die sooner, because you;re putting too much pressure on the lines.
Does anyone know if a 4L80 trans bolt up to an LT1 or does is a TH400 good for Nitrous use?

When built properly they will live deep into the 11s easy. I have them running 10s.
I run 11s N/A with synthitic fluid. I have a 175 shot ready to go and expect no problems with my 54K miles trans.
At 105K Miles I would rebuild it

Save your money on a rebuild..IMO you are wasting your time and money trying to make the stock one last any longer. The damage is already done

Some of you guys must be lucky then. I couldn't keep my 4L60E on the spray without blowing it up all the time. The TH-400 does great though. It does bolt up to the enigne (whoever asked) but a mounting bracket, speed sensor, driveshaft. dipstick etc. are other issues. I really do miss having overdrive too.

Properly built they can run some good #'s.
