Post How Big Of A Hit Are You Using Through A LT1 Plate System?

I plan on making a few test runs soon and wanted to jet the car up a bit. I was running a 200 hit which was no problem, but I want to try and get a 9 second time slip.

I know I am going to need every bit of 250 or 300 to get the car to go that quick. However theren lies a problem.

I have heard of several situations where nitrous and fuel distribution became a problem. Specifically the Nitrous and Fuel fly right past the front two cylinders and they run lean.

Can anybody add any fact to this claim?

Also for what its worth I am using the TNT Twister Plate System. Thanks for any and all replys.

I just wonder if I can make the power at a 250 hit that it will take to get the 9's.

ur nick agostino!! what the hell spray the hell out of it and do a family rebuild :^).

no but in honesty i would be real worried of doing that as u said before there is a point where it goes stright to the back of the intake and either puddles. or u get rich rear pistons and lean front pistons.

i have a buddy down here in South Florida on ths sffba.com his name is Matt he is spraying a solid 200 shot on a stock motor no cam no heads, he hasnt got to run the car because of Turbo 400 problems to large of a stall for a daily driver, but anyways i know he sprays 200-230 on a i believe 97 ls1 T/a and had a compression check and everything was still fine.

so if u have a built motor i would only be real worried if u have high compression but i say go for it atleast once to get a 9sec slip, but im no where near what u are so i guess im just dreaming.

everything just my $.02

Well this isn't the first time this has happend but I am not Nick from Agostino Racing Engines.

AREOwner= Nick Agostino

ARE Customer = Nick D'Agostino

I am obviously the later

No problem when my car was there and since it has come home this happens all the time.

I am going to do a leak down and compression check on the motor just to ensure that it is perfect still then the tuning begins.

I need 625rwhp in order toeven stand a chance at getting the 9 second slip.

Hehe, I guess I'll throw my $.02 in here

I'm only running the shot I am because I am running a progressive controller with it to soften the blow. I'm not a giant fan of slapping the stock internals with a 200+ shot at one time. Thats not to say it can't be done (hell, everyone running a TNT "150" is doing basically that), I just would like to see my motor hold together a bit longer.

FWIW, I have never had any kind of distribution issues that I know of. I wouldn't advise doing what I am, because you may well run into that very problem. But so far, the car purrs like a kitten, and frequent plug checks show that everything looks pretty even.

My shortblock is everything but stock. Ross Pistons, Billet Lunati Rods, Lunati 4340 Crank, 4 bolt billet mains, etc, etc.

I have used a 200hit with no problem. I am thinking we will try a 250 hit and see how it works.

Direct port may be in the future though.

With all due respect, if you hit that with anything LESS than a 200, you threw your money away on that bottom end.

But DP would be a really good idea.

He He I hear ya there, but if I come right out and put 300 through that plate and melt a piston I end up in the same boat

We will have to see how things go. I was just wondering if anybody has hit 250 or 300 through their plate system with any dependability.

Cars with a 200+ also requires a chassis that will handle that much shock to the ground. You might want to think of a 2 stage!

The car has full BMR suspension as well as HAL's at all four corners. It also has airbags in back, so the suspension is all set.

For traction out back it has 28x12.50 ET Streets, ao it hooks just fine.

I was just wondering about distribution issues in the intake with a big shot. I will take this to the drag section, maybe better luck there.
