Hot Cam/ NOS combo

Thinking of adding NOS (75-100 hp dry shot) to my '94 z28 w/ LT4 Hot Cam kit, A4 w/ Vig 2800 stall, 3:73's, headers, MSD 6a, and numerous suspension bolt-ons and free mods. Other than changing spark plugs, will this cam/ nitrous combo work well together?
Thanks!

It will work, but it might not be as great as you using a nitrous cam. Im going to be spraying with an LS1 hotcam. You might want to think of getting a fuel pump and change your injectors.

I am wondering the same thing. I too am running a hot cammed lt1 and getting the same stall and already have all the other goodies too. I am concidering a TNT 150 shot but don't know how well it will work or even be worth it with the hot cam. If not i was going AFR heads but would like to save the money. I really want 11's.

why not go with a WET kit? ive heard good things bout a hotcam with a wet kit...its obviuosly not as good as a n20 cam, but i wanna pass emmisions so it leaves very few options...

I'm running a '94 Z28 with the LT4 HotCam, NX kit, PI 2800, all the bolts-ons, Hoosier QTP, & stock 10 bolt with 3.42 gears. It runs 12.39 @ 109 NA & 11.10 @ 124 on a 150 shot

Spray on. I used an LT1 with stock crank Eagle rods and JE pistons with a HOTT cam for 5 years. A 175 wet shot landed me 10.40's @ 137. The car was 11:1 (353ci--.020 bore) and went 11.6's @121 on motor. Always worked great. Just make sure you have all the right fuel and no detonation. Was a wet kit.

JP, those some nice times! I can wait to start my rebuild.

BTW, how high are you revving that thing?

Thanks,

Thanks. That was my old motor that I just retired for a solid roller 383. It would rev to 6500-6600. Had the AFR Rev kit on it as well. Was a fun combo that still gave 22-24 mpg on the highway. Car is also a 6 speed.

Got a friend with a 3rd gen with an LT-1 with the hot cam combo, NX 150 shot, headers running very low 11's almost in the 10's. I'm very impress.

I have a 96 M6 Hot cam, hooker LT's & SLP 2OTL exhaust I ran 12.9 @ 110.4 NA & 11.96 @ 118.4 visualy smoking the clutch for 80' on the 100 shot (NX wet kit). I still have some fuel system issues to resolve before I can go to a 150 shot.

I ran time in sig only spraying till the 1/8th mile. I too am worried about running lean and am on stock fuel system. I will be adding a pump and taking out some timing to go loww 11's but I need a rollcage too! Any cam will run good with n2o but a n2o cam would work better on the spray.

Mike,
Yeah a NX kit woudl be a good way to go. Unlike other nitrous manufactuers NX shots are rated at the rear wheels not at the fly wheel. BTW how has every thing been? 3 years a go with a lt4 hot cam shorties and a NX 150 shot I was running 7.5 @ 97 in the 1/8th mile pulling the left front off the ground.

Joe,
All is going well, thanks. I like the thoughts of the power increases the NX wet system will give me. I still have homework to do so I better understand the Gen II stuff as well as what ignition and spark plug changes to make. If you have any good nitrous information resources I could research, please let me know. In the next couple of months I'll start purchasing the components with install planned for April or May. Hope all is well w/ you and your family!
Thanks!
Mike
