heads and cam plus nitrous questions

I know you can spray 150 safely on the stock bottom end. Will it be just as safe if say i was already putting out 400rwhp then a 150shot?

as long as the fuel and ignition systems can handle it you will be fine.

At a certain point, the stock hypereutechtic piston ring lands will collapse.

Yes, it seems to be hit and miss with the fragility of the hypereutechtic threshold. Maybe it has to do with the mix or porosity. Some cars can go up on the spray, while most can't pass 150 before crushing a ring land.

I dont want to do more than a 150 shot but i just wanted to make sure that heads and cam didnt effect what the stock bottom end can take as far as nitrous.

LOL... sorry about the tangent. Yes, your heads and cam will not affect what your bottom end can take. The main weaklink in the bottom end are the stock pistons.

When I did the 100 shot shot on top of the cc306 I was seeing about 3-4 degrees of Knock retard, I could not run the 150 shot without major knock retard without a little bit of 103 octane.

it is nuts to run nitrous on a heads/cam setup without race fuel.

make sure you run some good unleaded high octane (and not 94 sunoco) 100 octane unleaded at least.

If you've got heads and cam, you've probably had programming done. If so, it sounds like the spark advance in addition to the N2O would create a bit of knock. You can do several things:
- Use race fuel (unleaded or you'll toast your O2s)
- Add a race fuel auxilary tank
- Reprogram to retard timing 2-3* degrees
- Add a timing retard controller to the interior
- Richen the mixture with a larger fuel jet

You may be starving the system too with 150 shots... may need to upgrade the fuel pump. You're at that threshold.
