heads/cam + 150 n20
heads/cam + 150 n20
ok, i contemplating buying a wet NOS kit and spraying 100-150 shot. i have a walbro 255lph pump already, would this be adequate? what else would i need?
it has a WOT switch, i will get a Fuel pressure switch, and a window switch to only spray from 3400 to 6000 (i shift at 6500)
i also dont plan to spray in 1st gear, my stock 10 bolt would explode
any tips or suggestions?

I don't have the heads and cam, but I do have a stock fuel pump, and I dry spray 150 with slicks on an all stock TH350 94 bird. I went 11.52 @ 115.98 with a 1.55 60'. The stock pump appears to be at its limit. Don't try this without editing the PCM.
Another car I tuned has a hot cam, stock pump, and a stock rear end, with a 100 shot and nittos, it went 11.70 @ 116mph.
The stock stuff is tougher than you think.

I've had no fuel issues with the 255lph intank at this power level. I also spray it out the hole for maximum ET gain. I've only broken one set of gears in 3 years.

Thanks Dustin.
It's a single pattern, so not optimal for nitrous. 232/232 .560/.560 on a 113 lsa. I did run the 175 shot on the 11.03 run. With traction problems, upper 80 degree temps, 17" wheels on the front, and a 3650 raceweight, I'd say it did pretty good.
Looking for some solid 10's and 127+ traps with new slicks, good weather, and the 15x3.5's I have now.

Derrick, looks like 447 flywheel hp on motor and 625 hp on dope. Net gain of 178 hp, pretty cool. And, not bad for a single pattern cam.
Based on what we've seen around here you can easily support the 10 second run when you hook. The new slicks will get you there. Excellent.
I can't wait to see you make the 10s pass. Awsome car, excellent effort.

If my calculations are right, you are throwing about 600fwhp at the stock rods... What are your shift points with that cam? How much timing are you running approx. ?TIA,
I'm running full timing. I do have a dyno tune and run Sunoco 104 unleaded on the dope. I shift around 6,300 on the dope and 6,600 NA. The cam pulled to 6,900 on the dyno, but for longevity I don't rev that high..................too often.
