H/C car (stock bottom end) + N2O

who here sprays on top of other major mods done to their car besides bottom end work? mileage? amount? wet or dry? plate, direct or nozzle? usage (how many bottles have you succesfully been thru on the stock bottom end)?
i know all setups are different some have done more then others and vice versa but i'm looking for a general idea of whats ahead for me

i'm contemplating purchasing an N2O setup or making my own too compliment track days after i install my new opti
10# bottle, window switch, WOT switch, igniton box obvious lines and wiring etc. i wont be leaving any of the 'safety' items out of the equation
other recommendations on things i should look into and consider adding to the system? good nozzles? maybe a controller of some sort...?

i've got a decent fuel system (30# svo's, Walbro 255HP intank, the one recommended for nitrous and boosted applications) but i think most of that is being used up by the extra air the top end is in need of or am i wrong in my thinking there? would i be better off running a wet system over a dry? i really am only thinking of using 100-125 shot but leaning more to the 100 shot to play it safe.

my goal is to get into the 10's and be close to 130mph thru the traps with stock bottom end on spray. i believe i have the parts to do it combined with some nitrous. am i asking for trouble even in very conservative/safe use?

any and all info you wish to give me is highly appreciated!

Re: H/C car (stock bottom end) + N2O

as i have said in other posts, on my old 95 firebird i used to spray 200hp with a single nozzle wet kit on top of a Ported LT4s/cc306/stock shortblock combo that was at 11.2:1 compression and making enough power to go 11.34@121 @3600lbs without the nitrous. if you keep the tune where it should be and dont spray for extended periods of time you will be fine. if you spray a lot on a stock shortblock repeatedly in a short period of time the rings will butt together due to the small gap and break a ring land. for fuel system i just had a intank walbro 255, stock injectors, and a AFPR. running 10s @ near 130 should be no problem on a 150 shot if your combo runs decent NA and traction isnt too bad. when i was doing 10.5s on a stock shortblock the car was pretty heavy like i said, and i still had stock shocks, TA, etc on the car back then, along with some old dried out slicks i bought for $50. as for # of bottles i ran through it, i dont really know. i ran it that way a whole year, probably 20 trips to the track. each time i went to the track i would use about 15lbs of nitrous, and on the street i would go through about 10-12lbs of nitrous weekly. also keep in mind the 95-97 shortblocks have stronger rods than the 93-94, i was using a 96 shortblock on that combo

Re: H/C car (stock bottom end) + N2O

damn lol sounds to me like you were giving it way more then i had even thought about doing

right now i'm sitting close to 12:1 cr and my weight is down in the high 3100's without me close to 3400 with me

what all did your N2O setup consist of? and how/when did you engage it? what about timing? right now the car has a tune from Joe O in it and the timing tables are extremely aggressive, enough that Ion said he didnt want to mess with it at all, i know its a lil bit rich now tho as i can see black smoke under WOT conditions
were you just on 93oct pump gas?

the way you are speaking of your old combo is what i am looking at getting into myself

right now N2O is on the back burner as i'm just toying with idea (which doesnt seem to bad now that i hear that), the rear suspension is 1st on the list of things i need to deal with after this opti

what are your opinions on just a dry setup with my fuel system?

thx
Steve

always just ran 92/93 octane in it. i never got around to leaning it out, it was jetted WAY too rich on the nitrous. as a result, i didnt need to pull any timing at all even though i had a retard box on the car. as for engagement, i sprayed right off the line and the whole way down

Im spraying or should say have been spraying 200 through a fogger on my stock bottom end. I actually got it from Chevyguy like 2 years ago and it had what like 70 something thousand on it? Still running strong, I change the oil and plugs every 3 spray runs, and check the plugs ever run. I only run 110 in it for gas just to keep it safe.

Key points
Tune
Gas
Right Jets
Cold Plugs
