Good cam with N20.

I have a stock bottom end Lt1. CAI, SLP LM exhaust, Jet-hot LTs, NX 100 shot. I want some more N/A hp. I don't really want to port my head because I plan on getting really nice heads when I do my rebuild. Is there a good cam to get some good N/A hp that won't hurt my stock bottom end too much with a 100 shot? What are some things that would be get along with the cam (besides new rear end, and tranny)? Is the LT4 hotcam any good? Would my bottom end hold up allright with that? If I did get a cam, what would be some good things to get along with the cam, for safety/structual reason?

well, i'm doing a stock lower and 150 shot shortly with my 224/236 cam, should make good hp n/a and use a sc. or nitrous more efficiently do to the lack of valve overlap.

If I were to get the hotcam kit, would I need to upgrade my fuel system, or anything else to go along with my N20? I don't want too big of a cam or to spend a ton of money on the cam because I am planning on rebuilding in the next year or 2 and need to start saving up.

The HOT CAM kit is a good setup for the money in my opinion. The cam takes nitrous pretty good, I am running a 150 TNT shot on my stock bottom end Z28. I don't have any track runs with the nitrous to back it yet though.

As far as the fuel system goes get a good in tank pump at least. I got the RaceTronix for mine from Thunder Racing. It is a very nice piece. I plan on going with some 30 lb injectors later on as well though.

Cool, thanks for the reply. Ok, so I would need a good in tank pump and new injectors. Would I need a new timing chain as well? Other than that, is there anything else that isn't in the hotcam kit that would be a good idea for me to invest in....besides a tune?

When I did my cam swap I bought just the timing chain itself from GM. But my motor had about 80k on it at the time. Also the injectors aren't a must have (since I still have the stock injectors), but I have been told to go ahead and get the 30lb SVO's.

Stock injectors should be ok for a hotcam + n20 car? It only has 25K miles, and it is a wet kit.

You should be fine with the stock injectors as long as it is a wet kit.

If I were to run a hotcam kit with a 100 NX shot (maybe 150 shot later on). Would I need new lifter/pushrods or anything else besides a tune and a new timing chain?

I think your lifters will be fine since they are low mileage. I bought a set of Comp hardened pushrods when I did my install, they were just like $35 or so from Thunder Racing.

Woot, but does that mean they'll hold up to a hotcam + 100 shot?

I have heard that the 94 pushrods were hardened. My car had 80k on it so I decided to play it safe and buy a new set. They might hold up fine I just decided to play it safe and get a new set.

Re: Good cam with N20.

How bad would a 230/236 112 LSA be? I have the cam in now, wondering how a 125 shot would help me out
