GM 847 and nitrous
Seeing how I have Ellis's 847 cam in my 396... with nitrous plans, I'd say it's "ok". Most N/A cams are a good place to start for N2O. Nitrous-dedicated motors however will benefit from increased EXHAUST duration, and by moving the opening and closing times forward (via increased lobe separation... say a stock-looking 114 or 116 degress).
More overlap isn't so much a problem, nor is less intake lift/duration... it's mostly about exhaust timing.
The 847 is fairly good on both accounts. exhaust duration is quite long, and moved forward almost 10+ degrees over stock. The exhaust lobes also have a good amount of lift, but you could put 1.5RR's on it if needed.
