firends 383 lt1......how big of a shot

My buddy has a built 383 stroker with forged bottom end, they told him the block can take a 300 shot, what will be the best set up in his case? Also what brand do you recomend? Also we are both new to nitrous so any tips will help out....thanks

What kind of car is it? Assuming an LT1, I'd go with the NX wet kit and stick to 100 shot especially since neither of you has any experience with it. After awhile, I'd upgrade it to a dual stage and up to 300 if you're bold enough.

Re: friends 383 lt1......how big of a shot

I wish I would have spell checked the title. Well he is determined to go bigger than 100 shot, so wet kit is always better than a dry kit? Also I was looking at the sale going on, what kit do you guys recomend? What accesories would we need with this kit?

If he is dead set on a 300 shot, he will have to go with a direct port set-up. Like BlownF1 said, he should start out small and work up to the larger shot. There is alot involved in running nitrous and little room for error. Even the strongest bottom ends are toast when you go lean at 6000 rpm. As far as accesories, fuel pressure safety switch, rpm window switch, nitrous filter and full throttle switch are absolute must haves. I recommend a bottle heater and purge valve also.
