Filling bottle with remote opener attached
Filling bottle with remote opener attached
How do you guys do this? I have an NX opener on an NX 15# bottle. Getting the opener on was a pain, so I can't imagine taking it off every time to have the bottle filled.
Is there an easy way to accomplish this that I am overlooking?
Thanks.

Just take it off....youll get good at it after a few times....note the orintation of the opener on the bottle and the clamp on the opener and put it back the same way every time. I can put mine back on in a miniute or 2 now.
Thanks for the input guys.
I may make a small harness that will double as a +/- for the fill station, so they can open & close it by switching the wires on a standard power 12V supply. Then I can plug it back into my existing setup.
Thanks again!

If your intent on leaving it on.....you can just take the allan head screws out of the top and remove the motor and clutch assembly....then the billet piece can be turned with any small flat object that will fit .....or you could turn the clutch by hand(a bit messy with the grease)
Greg, thanks a lot. I was going to ask and/or check myself whether the wires went into the part of the top that was removable.
That might be the easiest afterall! Thanks again!!

Well, as far as I know the opener will stay open it doesn't need electricity to keep it open. Open it before you disconnect it and it will stay open.

Yeah, thanks for the thoughts, though, guys.
I think I will probably go with removing the top portion where the wires connect, and manually open and close it each time.
You'd think NX would have thought of something when designing, with what seems like a basic design flaw. Yeah, you can remove it, but to me that cuts back from the whole point of ease-of-use of having the valve in the first place.
Oh well, such is life sometimes.
Thanks again everyone.

One other point Solomon, thats kind of related and took me awhile to figure out. The easiest way to adjust the clutch is by hand with the top off. Tighten the clutch screw till it opens the valve when turned by hand( then go another 1/2 turn tighter)
