Question Few questions on Nitrous

First, is it safe to run a 125 shot on my engine as it is...sig below. Also, I have a wet nitrous kit that came off a Mustang 5.0 and I'm putting on my car, I need to get gas for the nitrous, where and how can I get it? I know where the fuel line is, but which one is in and which one is out? Should I use a "T" to hook the line to the nitrous kit??? Any help is appreciated. Jason

If you want to run a shot that big you might want to up grade the fuel system...ie. better pump. As far as getting fuel to the system, there is a test port (to check fuel pressure and stuff) on the back of the fuel rail, back by the fuel pressure regulator. You will need to remove the valve (you can use the same tool you would use to take the vale out of a tire valve stem). Then just hook up the fuel line and you have you fuel supply.

So you think I need a bigger fuel pump??? I didn't think that came until you ran a 150 shot? I'm still not quite sure where this test valve is...could you explain exactly, lamens terms I guess...thanks Jason

i would do the fuel pump for peace of mind. thats just me.

The test port is behind the intake, look to where the fuel lines go to the regulator, then you will have to feel around cause you cant see,but there is a crossover tube behind the intake,it will have a cap/valve about in the middle, thats the test port.

Will it harm the engine to run the nitrous without a new fuel pump....what kind of fuel pump are we talking about anyway and what kind of price range? Thanks Jason

Most people go with a higher rate in tank pump (about $150). You can see the test port if you look at the back of the intake manifold. If you need a picture let me know and I'll go out and take one and send it to you.

A picture would be great, I'll be checking back in the morning...will it hurt to run without a new pump, because I may be without a new one for a little while and I'm having the kit put on tomorrow morning. It's the only time I've had available for like the past 5 months. I'm just wondering if it will be safe, because we'll have to test it once or twice to be sure everything is running smoothly...thanks Jason

I'll go take it and send it to you. Just run a smaller shot, like a 75 untill you get a new pump then you will be safe.

yes you can run without a fuel pump, just dont get greedy with it.
some people may say you dont need a pump for a up to a 150 shot, but if it is your only car,the little bit of peace of mind a new pump offers goes a long way.
