The vortec elbow is aluminum right? If it is you should be able to tap the elbow itself and put the nozzle directly in it. You will need to drill a 1/4 inch hole and then tap it with a 1/16 NPT tap.

ok thanks. another thing is that air elbow was a center divider that goes all the way up to about 1in before the throttle body. is it ok to have the nozzle on one side??

I've never seen one of those tubes up close so I'm not sure exactly what it looks like but I would put the nozzle either before or after the diveder but not in one side. On a dry kit it probably wouldn't matter too much if you did but I still wouldn't do it that way.

Your installing a dry setup after the MAF sensor? How is the car going to pick up the nitrous flow?

35thanniv the LS1 uses the MAF to compensate for the fuel and the LT1 use a nitrous regulator that takes nitrous pressure lowers it down to around 50psi and then sends a pressure signal to the fuel pressure regulator which in creases the fuel pressure to compensate for the nitrous. It's kind of like an FMU for a super charger. Hope this helps.
