Do it right the first time right?

My name is Jeff and I am fairly new to the site and brand new to Nitrous. I am definetly going to buy a kit here in the next week and have a couple questions before I do. For reference, I own a 1995 Z28 6 speed. The kit I have decided to get is a Harris Speed Works Brute Force single nozzle system. Here are some questions:

1. Which setup would better suit my car? A Mallory 685 with the window switch or a DynoTune two stage window switch with the multi-gear lock out function? Why?

2. Would it be worth it to upgrade to the dual nozzle system for future upgrade?

3. Where can I buy a FPSS?

4. What is the best material to use for my purge lines...metal or plastic tubing?

Harris Speed Works: I see that the Sudden Impact kits are on sale. Can you make me a good deal on Brute Force kit, Purge and shipping? If the price is right, I would pop for the dual nozzle kit.

Thank you guys ahead of time for any and all help.

1)I'm not familar with the Dynotune part, but I am with the Mallory 685 box. I, as well as many others would agree, it is a good bang for the buck considering it has a built-in window switch, timing retard, rev limiter, and the basic benefit of amplifying the ignition.
2) I have the dual nozzle system. From an appearance aspect, I guess it looks pretty cool with two nozzles plumbed on opposite ends of the intake elbow. From what I have heard, if you plan on spraying larger shots, it is beneficial because it helps to keep distribution consistent.
3) You can buy a fuel pressure safety switch (FPSS) right off of Harris Speed Works website, just type it in their search engine and the page will come up.
4) For the purge, I would use the stainless steel tubing with the compression fittings. I used a 3AN line instead that routed from the purge valve to a v-spray block.

The Mallory only gives you a single channel window switch but will upgrade the ignition, and give you the ability to retard timing if neccassary.

The digital window switch give you a 2 channel window switch w/any gear lock out. It also includes a TPS activation switch.

On a 1-150 shot you might not need to retard the timing but every car is different.

A dual nozzle does not offer as wide a Jet selection...but will support large shots easier

Any nitrous supplier can get you a FPSS....you will need the manifold also

plastic is a little easier to work with than the hard metal lines, but will break down over time.

Thanks for the PM Ray. Your company seems to have very good customer service. Are there any more options for a first gear lock out on a M6?? I really want to run the 685, but I just can't bring myself to not have the option of gear lock out and a TPS switch. Where does the gear lock out hook up to? How does it know that my car is in first gear?

I assume you are wanting the 685 for the timing retard and the ignition functions....for a little more the the 685 you could go with something like the Crane Hi-6S it has timing retard funtion and comes with a coil for $179.

That would run $70 more if you go with the Hi-6S and the digital window switch, over the 685 alone.

The gear lock out feature does can not physically tell what gear you are in. The way it work is it electronically reads how many times you go through the RPM band. I.E. you have the box set to lock out 1st gear....you activate the kit in 1st shift @ 6k...the rpms drop and the box activates the solenoids. If you activate the kit in 3rd (from a roll) the solenoids would not be activated until 4th gear. 1st gear lock out means "the first gear the kit is activated in"

The feature does not need any extra wire to be installed, it picks up its signal from the tach signal.

Hope this helps.
