Compression and Nitrous? will it work?
hey, i am in the process of putting my 383 lt1 together with totally forged bottom..what i was wondering is if i could run like a 100 shot with around 12:1 compression?..im not familiar with n20 at all..i was under the assumtion that i cant and if i could it would require 112 octane..any help would be great, thanks

No problem with that compression and nitrous. Just make sure you run good fuel, a non projected tip colder plug and pull 2 degrees of timing for every 50HP of nitrous. Some people run 15:1 and even 16:1 with nitrous. Higher compression narrows your tuning window.

A non-projected tip plug barely has the center electrode extend beyond the threads.
A narrow tuning window means you don't have as much margin for error with the nitrous/fuel ratio and ignition timing.

WOW you just made my post idiot proof..thanks for the excellent info w the pics and all..so by the sounds of it, i would wanna take my ride to a shop that does dyno tunes, etc..kinda like Maryland Speed..im great with engine work but i think N20 installation sounds a little complicating and i dont wanna screw my engine up.
