Which can handle nitrous better?????

I was just sittin here and thought of this. Which engine would be a better choice for nitrous stock for stock. The LT1 or the LS1??? I would think the LT1 would be of the iron block. What do u guys think???

The LS1 pistons seem to be a little stronger.

Neither will survive detonation, but I have seen the LS1 hold up better.
This seems to be the weakest link in either motor.

LT1 should have the better gasket retention ability with more head bolts per cylinder, but this should be more related to a modified application.

What is the differance in the LT1 and LS1 pistons??

Haven't actually analyzed them in detail for comparison.
They are 2 totally different motors, like comparing Chevy to Ford.

I have seen a lot of broken LT1 pistons, very few LS1's.

Once they come out of the motor, I throw them away. Never rebuilt an LT1 or LS1 & reused the stock pistons.
