buying nitrous oxide

I have a fairly stock 97' camaro lt1. I'm in school and enjoy the way it drives right now, so I am planning on buying a nitrous kit for it. I need suggestion's and tip's please. how much of a shot? what Brand? saftey? I just installed a racetronix fuel pump, will i need anything else to support the kit?? im sure there are millions of these threads, but since i dont have one specific question i thought this would be the way to go.. thanx

The Racetronix fuel pump was a very good start. Many people safely spray anywhere from 100-150 shots all day long. As for kits, there are many of them on the market. Personally, I purchased the NX dual nozzle wet kit from Nitrous Outlet, one of the supporting vendors on here. I also bought all the bells and whistles to go with it. Also, both Nitrous Outlet and Harris Speed Works, another supporting vendor on here, both sell very high quality custom kits that are at a very affordable price. I have done business with both of these vendors and their customer service is very good. Also, I would recommend you run 1 step colder spark plugs such as the NGK TR-6 or Autolite 104s with a .035-.038 gap. A bottle heater, purge valve, fuel pressure safety switch, and a blowdown tube are also very good things to have. Lastly, I would consider looking into the Mallory 685 ignition box.. it has both a window switch and timing retard function built into the box, both of these are critical to safely spraying nitrous.

Since you have already installed the Racetronix...I would go with a wet single nozzle kit. You can safely spray 100-150HP through the single nozzle.

We carry Nitrous Express, N.O.S. Zex, and Nitrous Outlet brand products. So we have a kit to fit anything you could ever dream of doing.

As far as safety 2000GTP covered all the basics.
1) colder plugs
2) Fuel pressure safety switch....will turn the kit off if the pressure drops to low
3) Mallory 685...control timing retard and window switch functions
4) Bottle Heater and pressure gauge....helps keep optimum pressure
5) Purge....removes air and gasseous nitrous from the feed line, can also vent the bottle if the pressure is to high
6) NHRA valve and blow down tube....vents the nitrous outside of the vehicle if the bottle pressure exceeds the burst disc limits(3000psi)

Thanks
Ray
