Bought a used compucar kit...have some questions.

First, there were 4 solenoids. 3 of which were easy. Gas, nitrous, and purge. but the fourth is downright HUGE and is not labeled at all. The only thing I can figure is it acts like a remote opener...only you leave the bottle open and just activate that solenoid when you need the juice. Is that correct? If so, what is the duty cycle? How long can that thing remain on without burning up?

Next question... there is a lighted switch in there with a capacitor (16V, 3300uf) going across two of the terminals. Any clues on this one?

The power wire has two items inline. One is a fuse holder, the other is an axial transistor... fairly big sucker too. 25watt, 15 ohm. Why is that there?

Last, is it better to switch 12v with my arming and purge switches, or should I swicth ground instead?

I have pictures of all the parts listed if anyone needs to see them.

not sure on all of your q's

i used switch 12v, prob can do it either way for the switches

As for the cap, i would assume it just holds some charge so that wen the system is turned off it makes the lighted switch fade from bright to off. Thats my guess.

All that other stuff, i'd ask compucar.
