Question Bottle pressure and hot summer days...

How dangerous is it to leave ur bottle in the car on some really hot summer days (especially if ur car is black !!)

ie if u goto the track for a full day .. or just out on the beach mustang hunting

i do have a blow down tube .. but i dont wanna to prematurely discharge my nitrous in front of everyone

funny you ask...we were in the garage taking a break and eating pizza in the middle of my clutch install last weekend, and my friend's black 97 Z was sitting outside in the heat on new black pavement...and you can imagine...*BOOM*pssssst* blew the weatherstrip off the rear hatch and froze the entire quarter panel...it was COOL! turns out he'd left the bottle heater on and the bottle blanket was on...guess that was enough to cause failure.

Weeeee! Bet that really was awesome. BTW, How's the ignition doing now? Lemme know if you can wire up the high speed retard so that it is not always on. I've yet to go out and mess with mine.

Loadre - yeah it seems the ignition is okay now. I ripped out all the wiring and only ran the length they provide in the kit (which meant temporarily testing it on the floor) and it worked out. If anything, it's just amplifying my opti problem at about 2500 but other than that it seems good. I just put in new O2s again after my MAF problem and the rest of the NX stuff just got here so I'll be installing and testing before too long.

sideways - yeah it just blew the relief cap and blew a whole lotta PSI straight up (from the wheel well) and broke the seal between the hatch and the quarter panel...nothing serious, it just got really really cold the weatherstrip went right back into place unharmed. but man, it looked the the biggest purge I've ever seen!

This is why my lisence plate is "PSSSST". Check my website out for pics!..hahahaha hopefully my blowdown tube will direct all of the nitrous out of the car as intended when this happens. Hasn't yet *knock on computer*
