blow-down tube for street use

is it a good idea to get a blow-down tube , even if you have a purge? the bottle would be open when crusing on the street , thats why i ask. also the -8an safety fittin g taht NOS sells replaces the pressure relief cap , then the blow down tube connects to that? thanks for the help!

If you have the bottle inside the car, its a good idea to vent the safety relief disc to the outside of the passenger compartment. In the VERY remote event that the pressure relief disc ruptured, it would dump an opaque cloud of gas that could suffocate you, and prevent you from seeing out of the car.

Yes... you put the -8AN fitting in place of the normal disc fitting on the bottle valve assembly, then attach the blowdown tube, or a braided hose to that.

Braided vent connection

I wouldn't run without that tube. Hopefully you'll never need it, but that one time you do .....
