A Big problem with my NX Kit, PLEASE HELP.

Can anyone please help me and give input on possible solutions for the following problem.

I have a 98WS6 with head and cam package, computer reprogram and 3200 Vig stall converter. Last year I had my car running 12.2 @ 110+. Well, I took my car to a local speed shop (one that has done lots of good NX installs). They put an adjustable 150 kit on the car and could only manage to get an additional 30Hp at the rear tires on the bottle VS NA. Even with sticking a 150 shot in it It seems to end up making no additional power.

The fact is my times are only .02 to .03 better on a 150 shot than of the bottle.

Has anyone ever had this problem? Can anyone help point me to possible places to look in the system and how to check? I know very little about nitrous systems. I tried contacting the shop but have got nowhere with them.

By the way the kit is the adjustable 150 kit, full purge, blow down, bottle heater and 15lb bottle, bottle pressure has been good on all runs. The system is also using the digi set dip switch delay timer.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Just a wild guess without seeing your wiring, but I'm guessing something is wired incorrectly with the timer. If your times are only .02-.03 better, then the system isn't even spraying, you just had a better run.

First thing I would do is go down to the shop and have them recheck all the wiring. If its not the wiring then maybe you have a defective solenoid? Who knows.

Chances are if you can purge nitrous from the purge solenoid then more than likely your problem from the sounds of it probably isn't wiring assuming the company that did the install has done others and from your post it sounds that way. Its pretty easy to wire up a nitrous kit.

Depending on the type of kit you use either plate or nozzle I would check to make sure that nothing is blocking the orfice of the solenoid obstructing nitrous flow. It's very common to have foreign material inside the teflon lines and if the person installing the kit did not blow out the lines or just clean the entire parts to the nitrous kit weather it is new kit these peaces will find there way to the filter if you have one installed and block the flow causing no power gain.

To check and see if your solenoids are working have some one arm the kit but keep the nitrous bottle closed and fuel disconnected and then hold your hand on top of the solenoids while hitting the activation trigger. You will be able to feel the solenoids click and if they are clicking then you know that your getting power and they are working.

Another thing to watch for especially ifyour using a dog **** NX kit make sure all the nozzles or spray bars are completely machined. This seems to happen offten with NX nozzles. One last thing to check is if you have a fuel pressure safety switch installed pull it out and see if the kit then works. I hate those things they never are accurate or relaible not mention always shutting your nitrous kit off when it shouldn't be.

Good Luck!

I say your problem is in the timer not hooked up right. try to run the system in a bottle to make sure the fuel and N20 is spraying out. but you will have to bypass the timer. If it is activated by RPM's?

Good Luck
