Alternatives for bottle mounting besides trunk?

Most of the setups I have seen for the LT1's have the bottle mounted in the spare tire well in the trunk area. I am trying to set mine up as a "hidden" system but it seems that the trunk it where most people often look first. I would rather not respond to a request to see my trunk with a "no, nothings there." Are there any other locations to mount a bottle such as a 15lbs. other than this area and it not be visible? I don't want to have to fab alot up so any alternatives? Maybe the otherside (driver side) under the rear panel that holds the speaker? With a electric bottle opener, it would be easily opened. Anyone else done something different?

Just do a Yahoo search for: camaro hidden nos, or n20.
This should get you started.

Here's how i mounted my bottle. If you don't want to take time to fab a mount just use some blankets and put it in the bottom of the spare tire well, but be sure to prop up the valve end some and tuck it in so it wont rotate.

I thought of a twist on the tool box thing that fits mylife style more. Get a big package of diapers, yes diapers. Cut out the bottom in the shape of the bottle and slip it over. Maybe use some duct tape here and there but it sounds like it will work, plus be kinda of funny to see the diaper pack though the rear window. No one would be the wiser.

Thanks fellas for the responses. But I'm a little confused. It seems like the spare tire well is the most often used place to mount a bottle. My expirience is that most people often ask to se your trunk when they suspect nitrous. Are there any other places to mount a bottle? Also do the nitous lines need to be as strait as possible with as less kinks possible?

NOS sells a little bottle that holds maybe 3-5 lbs. You could hide it easy somewhere. The only hassle would be getting it refilled all the time.

You could do something like this www.z28roc.cz28.com/hatch.JPG
But without the handle. And use the factory hatch carpet to cover it so there's no seams. Then maybe they won't catch on.

Honestly, I don't think that you know what the tire well is. Only because of the fact that if you had it there and someone asked to see your trunk, they would not see it. It would be hidden behind a panel that would have to be unscrewed in order to get to. It is NOT the well that you see when the hatch is lifted it is where the spare tire actually is but could not be if the bottle was there. It is the ONLY place that you would be able to hide a bottle, everywhere else it would be in plain site! I hope you understand what i'm saying and that I helped you.

Cool

If I understand correctly you want to put the bottle someware other than the spare tire well. That being said- I have seen the (10lb NOS Bottle) mounted in the front bummper. It was very hidden and the guy street raced the car (11.49) He didn't have very many "Visable" mods. He took the Frount bumper support out and put the bottle in there. This was on a 94 Trans Am, and the car was in NJ. He won all the races. Some people say this is not safe- but I have to dissagre. It is just as safe as mounting it in the spare tire well. The Kit this Guy used was a NOS dry 150 shot.

I have my bottle mounted in the spare tire well. Just because I like the way it looks. But I don't care if anyone knows the I have Nitrous.

Just my 2 cents

No it is not safe at all! This is a very dangerous spot to put a nitrous bottle. And taking out the front bumper support, well thats plain stupid! Why would you want to make your front end weak as hell with no support and a nitrous bottle sitting there!

how is it not safe. The bottle will not explode if it gets ruptured, what is the difference if it is in the front or the side, it has the same amount of protection. And I have to disagree with you on the bumber support thing, sure, its not safe if you dont replace it with something. I'm working on a peice kinda like the one BMR has on their website. If I can get 30 or 35 lbs. off of the front end then I'm gonna do it, safely I might add. Anyway, what about this, remove the pass. air bag and put it there. Just a thought.
