A4 guys with nitrous........
How do you launch on nitrous without using DRs? I have enough traction problems as it is right now and i could only imagine if i had a 100 or 150 shot of nitrous how bad my traction would be. Is there a trick or something to using nitrous in automatic cars? Should i wait until 2nd gear or longer then spray?
most use a "window switch" and set it to only spray at lets say 2500rpm to 5500rpm during a certain gear. That way you dont burn up your transmision by spraying during shifts. Second gear would be perfect because the car usually acquires enought traction to lay down the extra power provided by the nitrous.
the trick is to buy a good rear and use et street's
but if you have to use dr's or street tires, bite the bullet and buy the NX Maximizer (digital progressive controller) you can ramp up the nitrous to accomodate traction.

well i just went 11.97 @ 118 without DRs. what i do is come out on motor. at 2000 rpm i hit the switch and off i go. this is with a 200 shot. and i spray through the shifts.

How do you get the nitrous to start spraying in second and not first? If you have the window switch start pill at 3000 rpms, wouldn't the nitrous come on at 3000 rpms in first gear. I guess unless you didn't hit the arming switch inside the cab until it shifts into 2nd gear.
I had a 150 on my '96 for a long while. At the track, on radials with about 23psi, great prep, I could go to the juice at about 3,5-4k in 1st. And that was only sometimes. A lot of the time I had to wait 'til second.
On the street w/ radials I couldn't hook at all in first and would spin a little in 2nd.
Of course, regular radials didn't stay on that long after I got the n2o. I bought Nitto DR's and sprayed right out of the gate, cutting 1.8xs at the track and it would hook just as good on the street.
You should be fine w/ DRs unless yuo have gears, then I would go with some ET streets or something.
I wouldn't even waste my time w/ radials....

With worn 245/50 radials like mine, yes, it's possible for you to get wheelspin from a roll in 1st/2nd. I don't know about "out of control", unless you really can't drive.
Why are you even asking this? Just get some DRs and you won't have a problem. Radials are a waste of time...

I was rolling about 55-60 mph and hit a 150 shot with 315/35 street tires. The rear of the car fishtailed sideways for a second, then gripped and went straight. Never thought I'd loose traction at that mph. Case in point, get you some drag radials.
